Philosophy, Approach and Interests

We need each other. We need to see ourselves as whole and total beings – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social – as each aspect contributes to who we are. As we go through life, we continually experience change involving a transition from one set of circumstances to another. We all follow the natural pattern from childhood to adulthood to old age. Other transitions in life can be planned such as moving or beginning a job or unexpected such as changes in health in oneself or a family member.

As these changes occur we experience stress and a disruption in some, or many, aspects of our being. We face loss as we move from the old and familiar to the new and unknown. During these times we may wish for the companionship of a neutral person to be a sounding board and reliable source of support who can facilitate the life adjustments needed for our particular situation. This person may be a family member, a wise friend, or a health coach who is trained in the process of change and has your best interests at heart.

My intention in health coaching is to create a relationship in which you are heard and understood. Although I am interested in all life transitions, I am particularly intrigued by living with a new diagnosis or living with a chronic situation. Your inner wisdom will provide a foundation for your self-understanding and growth. We will explore the issues you desire in order to identify your own truth. We may discuss your attitudes, lifestyle habits, and self-cares practices. Resources and options may be explored. Plans will be created, supported, and modified as needed.
